Two simple images :
The angel made by my daughter when she was 2. Simple and charming...
And a beautifully simple card sitting on my late father's inkstand in my Mum's dining room.
It should have been his 88th birthday today.
I still miss him.
For all those for whom there is an empty space at the table at Christmas Day...

Your daughter's angel is gorgeous and I am sure you treasure it just like you must treasure all the lovely memories of your dad.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a wonderful Christmas.
Love, Sal xxx ;-)
Two special treasures.
ReplyDeleteI'll be missing my dad for the second Christmas without him.
Thinking of you and wishing you a happy Christmas.

Every Christmas I am so grateful to have both parents still with us. I know the time is getting closer when we will not have one or both of them.
ReplyDeleteHope you have many happy memories.
Pretty angel - we used to have one that for many years graced our tree till my daughter demanded it was got rid of as she was now an adult! Loved that picture of snowdrops on your Dad's inkstand. Christmas can be a sad time for many as we are reminded of those no longer with us and the older you get the longer that list becomes! Don't be too sad however and enjoy your day even though having a moment's sadness too!

I'm sure your Dad will be there with you and will enjoy your company in silence.
ReplyDeleteHave a very merry Christmas!
We're fortunate to have all parents still with us but I know the situation may be different next year.
ReplyDeleteI love your daughters angel - how lovely that it has lasted for so many years :)
Merry Christmas

Have a lovely Christmas and enjoy the memories of your dad. We reminised last night...lots of disjointed Christmassy memories. Lovely and not sad if that makes sense! Cheers hun, it was great to meet you at the Fair, sorry not to have been in touch sooner.
